Iowa State Fair Memorial Ride

The Iowa State Fair Parade is the climax of the Ox Bow Company's annual State Fair Ride. The pictures were taken by Karin Parkes, Patrick Morris lead the group carrying the American flag, but the picture did not come out.

Spending time outdoors & being around horses and mules was a great love of Ray's, he loved all animals and raised many exotic animals, including his Llamas. He was a horseman and mule trainer, and spend many week-ends every summer on trail rides. He was one of three that completed the full reenactment of the Mormon trek with his team of horses and wagon he had built himself. He realized a longtime dream in November of 2006, of riding a mule to the floor of the Grand Canyon. He was man who could provide for himself & family, he know how to live off the land and have it provide for him, he was a survivalist. Ray was a member of the Oxbow Co., the New Virginia Saddle Club and B.I.T.S. (Back in the Saddle - Trailriders). Ray was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Ray was always trying to make the world a better and easier place for everyone.
Ray passed away at his home at the age of 75 years, he was laid to rest February 27, 2007 at New Virginia Cemetery.
